EXPERIENCE GROWTH WITH INTEGRATIVE PSYCHOTHERAPY

We all have times in our lives when we’re challenged beyond the point where we can support ourselves. During these times psychotherapy becomes a useful tool to be heard and supported in a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space.

If you’re in need of some support to cope with difficulties in your life,
THIS SPACE IS FOR YOU.

It’s a space to allow yourself to unravel, to reflect and process any mental, emotional or physical turmoil you may be experiencing.
As a trained professional I’m here to support you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery.

You can work 1:1 with me in two ways:

Long term Psychotherapy

By long term here I mean open ended. You are just ready to sign up and explore your life and difficulties with no time period in mind.

You are open to where the therapy needs to take you.

This is a great approach for trauma related topics, childhood wounding, general confusion or dispassion in life, depression/low mood, on-going relational issues and more.

Short term Therapy or Coaching

A more goal oriented approach. There is something specific you want to talk about and process.

We can create a plan and go from there.

You may sign up for 6 to 8 weeks for example.

Examples of topics you can bring to short term therapy:

Inner child healing

Self Love

Anxious or worrisome thinking

Relationship issues

and more

You can also work with a group of women on a similar path to healing and growth

You don't have to decide now.

ABOUT
INTEGRATIVE
PSYCHOTHERAPY

Integrative Psychotherapy is a form of 'Mind-Body' or 'whole' person therapy.

This holistic approach to therapy considers healing from all levels. It includes our mental, thought level, our somatic, body level as well as our feeling and emotional level.

In this way, Integrative Psychotherapy takes into consideration not just one part of you but all the parts that make up our unique, intricate system.

My training is in Core Process Psychotherapy from the Karuna Institute in Dartmoor, England.  It was developed as one of the first Mindfulness-Based trainings by Maura and Franklyn Sills. This style of therapy offers a unique integration of Western Psychology and Buddhist Philosophy. In this way, we are on a joint enquiry into your experience of suffering. It is an inward journey of contemplation and curiosity and I walk along beside you.

This journey isn't about pathology or a diagnosis you may have. It is about loosening your grip on identification with your suffering and reconnecting to the inherent health within you

In my therapy sessions, we may talk about the obstacles you may be presently facing and we may venture into the past to see what some of these difficulties connect to. We will also hold an intention to find clarity on ways you can move forward into the future. I will invite in holistic modalities if you are comfortable with it. These include relaxation techniques, visualization, mind-body connection practices and other somatic (body) techniques. â€‹Should you have been faced with any major trauma in your past, this will be approached very slowly and delicately.

Integrative Therapy integrates embodied practices into traditional talk therapy. A lot of our stress or trauma gets trapped in the body as well as the mind. Gaining access to emotion and feeling through the body can give us more information for the therapeutic process.  Thus, bringing both body and mind into the healing equation can facilitate for whole person integration and well being.

Integrative Psychotherapy not only provides the opportunity for you to find your own sense of integration in this whole person model but also integrates different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit the needs of the individual client.

Integrative therapy can help with:

  • Low self-esteem

  • Feeling lost in life

  • Major life changes and transitions

  • Relationship issues

  • Self-love

  • Sexuality

  • Spirituality

  • Stress

  • Emotional, childhood wounds

  • Trauma

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE THERAPY

The psychotherapy I am trained in is best done weekly. I sometimes agree to see people every two weeks however this is usually when they have been in therapy for a while.

It takes some time to develop trust and comfort with your therapist. For this reason, when you first start therapy with me I will ask you to commit to weekly sessions so that you can get the most benefit from sessions.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment please endeavour to inform me a  minimum of 24 hours before the time of your appointment to avoid being charged the full session fee.

 (Emergency situations will be considered).

HOW DO I BEGIN?

Contact me using the contact information provided below and we will set up an introductory session that can last between 20-30 minutes long.

The introductory session costs half of the regular session price and can be conducted online using just audio or audio and video.

The purpose of this session is to give us a chance to decipher if we will be a good match to work together. From there, if you choose to continue, we will set up our first session on a day and at a time convenient to both of us.

WILL THINGS I SHARE BE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL

I am accredited with the ACPP and UKCP in England and abide by their ethical guidelines. Everything that is discussed in our sessions is strictly confidential between us.

There are a few, very rare exceptions to this including:

  • Risk of harm or abuse to anyone including sexual, physical and emotional abuse or neglect.

  • Knowledge of plans for terrorism.

In the unusual instance that I need to report such a situation I would make every attempt to discuss this with you first.

WHAT DOES A USUAL SESSION LOOK LIKE?

Usually, I invite clients to start with breathing or sitting to settle into the space and the therapeutic process. This is optional and I give the option so that you can begin to assess what it is you need.

We talk about whatever is present for you that day and if a relaxation practice or somatic (body) technique could be beneficial at some point I will suggest it as an option.

HOW LONG SHOULD I DO THERAPY FOR?

There is no generally prescribed duration for  Psychotherapy. How long a person spends in therapy will be specific to each individual’s needs and desires. When either of us feels it is time to bring the psychotherapy to an end, we will agree to discuss this together and work towards a planned ending date.

I enjoy bringing a holistic approach to therapy as I integrate my years of study and practice in yoga, mindfulness and meditation among other personal development and spiritual modalities.
